Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss|Recipe For a Sweet Life

March 2d is Dr. Seuss' birthday!

This whole calendar week, Read Across America, was always one of my favorite weeks when I was teaching kindergarten. A whole week of reading fun books by Dr. Seuss, doing projects and activities around those books, and eating yummy and creative treats!

When I was teaching, we would have a big celebration for Dr. Seuss with all the treats! We would have parent and community volunteers come read his books. They played games and drew illustrations and watched movies. We even had in depth discussions about our bear on on the environs…thanks to The Lorax. The kids drank Pink Ink (pink/strawberry milk), ate Red Fish, Bluish Fish (colored goldfish), green eggs and ham (of grade), truffula seeds (Trix cereal), and more. It was i of the favorite days of the year! Anything to get kids reading and enjoying the process of reading is a good day! Sugariness treats merely brand it even improve!

My boys and I have been reading Dr. Seuss books all week and eating fun treats, like this popcorn! Koa fifty-fifty made the connexion between the popcorn and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Bluish Fish all on his own! Reading those books is so much fun at their age. Koa is picking out the words that rhyme, and Kai giggles (great large belly laughs) and tells me every thing that is "so funny!" There is something so sweet and nostalgic well-nigh reading these books with my own kids.  Even all these years later, Dr. Seuss connects with kids.

To celebrate this great author and illustrator, really named Theodor Seuss Geisel, The boys and I made this sweet, cute popcorn treat!

Piece of cake enough that the boys can help, simply so yummy that the whole family couldn't get plenty! It takes just a few ingredients that you probably have in the pantry. No baking, i bowl. Done. Make a batch and savour with a drinking glass of Pink Ink (pink/strawberry milk) and a big pile of Dr. Seuss books!
